Longer Days

For our Longer Days program campers stay until 2pm, rather than the typical noon check out. This gives us time to eat lunch together and explore more places at camp. We are offering this option on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday for the fall season. It is an additional $22 per day for this and you will register for Longer days for the full season.

General Flow of the day:

  • 9-12: Regular wild child programming

  • 12:00 - 12:30 Lunch time

  • 12:30-1:30: Visit another daily destination location

  • 1:30-1:40: Trek back to check out

  • 1:45-2:00: Pick Up

Reminders for the longer day:

  • Campers bring their own lunch. We eat lunch as a picnic- sometimes on blankets and sometimes at tables depending on weather and where we are going

  • Checkout for these campers will be at 2pm.

  • Campers will have an opportunity to rest/nap if needed

Here are some reasons our parent have chosen to do longer days:

“We chose the longer day option because Sofia really thrived in the program and asked often to stay longer… The longer days were worth it to us because it gave Sofia more time to enjoy all that Skyline offers, instead of getting settled in and what felt to her like leaving right away, she had time to eat lunch with friends, play more, and have a longer camp experience. “

“I chose to enroll in Wild Child’s extended days to give my children the opportunity to sit down and have lunch with their peers. This allows them to have more socialization and bond over a meal. The extra couple of hours really helped them to make friendships while enjoying nature for a little longer time. The schedule is also very helpful as a working mom. The extended day made it much more doable for childcare. “

“Longer days allowed for another adventure for my kiddo who thrived on the activities and time outside. The 2:00 end time gave me a bit of extra time before coming back for pick up and enough time to be together before dinner. “

“we felt that it was an opportunity for him to spend a little bit of a longer stretch away for just a couple days a week to start getting him acclimated for what school might be like. We also love that he was spending more time with his peers and leaders and trusting in them a little more to be able to help provide for him while he was there. We truly loved the wild child program as a whole and loved all of the skills that were taught here. Were loved how well our children were cared for and thought it was a wonderful way for them to start their educational experience!”

“From what I remember these are the main reasons we enjoyed longer days at Wild Child:

- More time to connect and play with peers.

- Nora always looked forward to eating lunch with her friends on long days.

- More time to explore.

Basically, it extended the time for all the good things that Wild Child is. More time to build character through creating, exploring nature, problem solving, physical activity & interacting with peers/intentional instructors.”
