“
I’ve gained better social and people skills. After working here I’ve used new problems solving techniques with my friends that have actually worked. I’ve also been more interested in going to social events because I’ve spent my whole summer with people.”
Being a camp counselor is a “Real Job”
You may be asking yourself - what skills will you develop at camp as a counselor that help you in the future, whether in the work place or wherever life takes you? Working with others helps all staff develop a focus on community with people-first skills in conflict resolution, adaptability, creative thinking, speaking in front of a group, organization, problem solving, collaboration, leadership and clear communication.
