fall COOKing with campers
Youth ages 8 – 15
sunday septmeber 21
1pm-4pm
Come back to camp for our first fall “cooking with campers” session. Meet at the farm and garden for an afternoon of Farm to Table fun with fellow campers. Jacinta Henry, our summer farm to table teacher will be leading this session, just like at camp. Harvest produce from the garden, follow recipes, and make something savory and something sweet to eat!
Do you want to find out what’s in the camp garden in September? We expect to have tomoatoes, BIG squash, herbs, greens, gourds, leeks, cucamelons, maybe melons, eggplants, sunflowers and beans. We never know depending on the weather, but whatever it is, we’re hoping to share the joy of the harvest with our campers, create a few tasty treats, and send home some garden produce.
The ratio for this activity is 1 counselor for every 7 campers.
Registration fee is $25 for this session.
What to wear and expect?
Dress in layers depending on the weather to be comfortable for 3 hours outdoors.
Come ready to harvest, cook and taste the afternoon away.
Part of cooking is cleaning up, so just like at camp, come ready to be part of the team.
Bring a water bottle.
We look forward to seeing you out at the farm!
OUR registration platform IS called CampBrain.
